Search for people with a certain fact type

I created a fact type “Mistress” - technically an association but I created the fact years ago before association was added.

I cannot seem to create a search argument that will return all people with a fact type=mistress so I can make sure the sentence created will be accurate.

A “Fact List” can be used to find everyone with a specific Fact.

If you haven’t customized the sentence for an individual, editing the fact will show the sentence used by default.

Thanks. Illustrates one of my pet peeves - Published reports that are actually searches because the default result is a “publishable list.” Perhaps there could be a cross between the lists. I was unable to find an answer to this question in the Roots Magic manual either.

What do you use/suggest a Male liaison?

You should be able to do a an Advanced Search using the criterion Mistress > Exists > Is true. The same criterion should also work for making a group or color coding.

Creating a Fact List report also works. But I usually prefer a search or a group to a report whenever possible.

I did try the Advanced search you suggested and it failed, returned everyone.

Publishing on Fact List worked, it is just not obvious to me to do a search through “Publish”

That sounds impossible. I realize that the white queen sometimes believes as many as six impossible things before breakfast, but I have already had breakfast today. So could you maybe post a screen shot of your Advanced Search screen where you set it up for Mistress > Exists > Is True? I don’t have a Mistress fact, but here is what I’m talking about with a different fact type.
