I’ve been using Roots Magic since 2005. I’ve been doing genealogy for 35 years. I worked for 30 years in law publishing and was closely involved with converting our books to databases including designing and debugging interfaces for editors and copy editors. I know that change is inevitable but I also know that often design is the result of programmers choices, and not users. Example: the lovely intro video talked about “using 2 computer screens” and how easy the new design makes this arrangement. Lovely, except I work on a 17" laptop (on my lap) and the new design is very hard to use with a 2nd window open.
