Missing Facts and Notes in FGS

Using Mac, Somona 14.7, RM 10

Published a family group sheet (FGS), made some corrections to notes and facts as needed in my database, ran tools, backed up and generated another FGS for the same family expecting the corrections to show-up. Instead, the subsequent FGS was missing all facts and corresponding notes for several, but not all, family members.

Thankfully the missing corrected facts and notes are complete and still there in my database.

Has anyone experienced this and if so, how can it be corrected?

Since they seem to only be missing from the FGS, that suggests the database is intact. Have you completely exited and restarted to find those corrected facts and notes still in the database, but not reflecting in the FGS? Do other reports show those corrected facts and notes?

I wonder if you could post four screen shots.

  1. Edit Person screen for person A who has a fact that shows up in an FGS for that person.
  2. FGS for person A.
  3. Edit Person screen for person B who has the same fact in the Edit Person screen and where the fact doesn’t show up in the FGS for that peron.
  4. FGS for person B.

Yes, I completely exited and restarted RM and they are still in my database but not reflected in the FGS. I even shut down and restarted my computer. I also ran a narrative report and the corrected facts and notes were included. Strange!

Jerry, is this what you mean? Father has the marriage showing in the Edit screen and FGS but there are missing other facts like Residence that are in his Edit and not in the FGS. Mother is missing all her facts in the FGS that appear on the Edit screen.

@Runner-- I see what you are talking abt and the info is probably missing on the children BUT am guessing-- you probably already did this BUT in the report make sure that you HAVE CHECKED Print Child’s NOTES, print private facts and private notes AND MAKE SURE YOU UNCHECK PRINT BASIC FACTS ONLY…

That said I had all of these checked and unchecked as listed above BUT when I ran a report I had one private fact marked for one of the kids and it was NOT included it in the report-- unchecked private on the fact and then made it private again and the 2nd report had the private fact…

The 2nd problem I had was that CUSTOMIZED FACTS were NOT included for the kids I used them on-- BY customized, I mean completely customized from scratch NOT just adding description or customizing a standard fact sentence… the report for Crystal

the edit page

Looking a little bit farther into this, I realized that the Will 3 and Will 4 facts on Crystal were FAMILY Facts-- which is probably why they did NOT show up in a FGS where she was a child-- it does show up in a FGS where I have her as a parent but listed under the hubby as is marriage

Thank you!!! I ran through your check and unchecks and lo and behold the “Print Basic Facts Only” was checked! I don’t know how that happened because I had just printed the same family’s FGS prior to making corrections with no issues! In any event, I can’t thank you enough!

Glad it helped @Runner But I’m still confused as to why the facts–birth/death etc were missing from the wife–only way I could make that happen was to mark them as PRIVATE in the fact, then UNCHECK include private facts in the report…

Partial solution. The rest of the solution probably lies in the Edit Person screen for the wife. Can you post a screen shot of that?

Jerry, please see below screen shot of the wife/mother’s edit screen. All these facts are now appearing in the FGS after I followed Nancy’s checklist as above. None of the facts are marked as “private.”
