Does Rootsmagic 9 work with Familysearch?

Apparently it is possible to get Rootsmagic 9 to run on in Linux with Wine, but before I go to the trouble, I need to know if there is any advantage for me to using Rootsmagic 9 over using Rootsmagic 7. I really don’t like the later versions of Rootsmagic, they’re unaethetic and harder to use and you have to convert your databases to a new format. If Rootsmagic 10 won’t communicate with Ancestry, does Rootsmagic 9 still communicate with Familysearch?

See Dec 2023 Announcement

RM9 does currently work with FamilySearch. It’s only Ancestry that is making breaking API changes. I can’t speak to if FamilySearch will work on Linux.

Thanks!

I expected there was an announcement when support with Ancestry and Familysearch was first upgraded, but not if it stil worked. But apparently that was 9.1 .

There continue to be some of us around that still believe RM7 is a far better and easier to use program than the later versions. Since I do not access Ancestry through RM I still use RM7 for my primary database. I do have RM10 on a separate laptop and do use FamilySearch matches from which I add details back to my home RM7 database. That is obviously inconvenient, but for the time being I will stick to RM7.
