This issue was first reported under version 8, it continued through versions 9 and 10 and still persists in version 11.
Just installed version 11 and tried to download a tree from Ancestry. It started the download, got to 47% and then stalled. The close button did not work, but I was able to close the window using the red dot and then exit RM without a force quit.

Yes, there are still some Ancestry trees we do not know the cause yet on why they won’t complete. We’ve had lots of theories but nothing consistent that explains it.

Consider yourself lucky. an ancestry download would give you meaningless media file names all jumbled up in one unnested folder. Upload also continues to fail if media or sources are included. However excluding those will get people up and provide hints to records which is all you really need.
