Search : sorting results by any column

Hello,

In the Search result window, it would be great being able sorting the list by any column, for example Birth date. By more than one would be the best :grinning:

I know that we can use a Group + Report + Export to Excel, but doing so we loss the very useful Edit and Go To buttons :slightly_frowning_face:

Thanks

Christian

Confirming sorting on the Person Search or Person Search-Advanced columns has been reported to development. You can create a group and then filter the People View list to it. Those columns are sortable.

Thatโ€™s one of several reasons that I seldom use RM9โ€™s Advanced Search and instead just make groups which I use to filter the People View list. Of course, for short term searches, I need to delete such groups as soon as I am done with them. Otherwise, my group list becomes too long.

Other advantages of People List View with group filters.

  • You can edit someone in People List View by double clicking them. In Advanced Search, you have to click the Edit button.
  • The left side panel is still visible and useful in People List view. You canโ€™t see the left side panel from Advanced Search.
  • People List View filtered by a group can be further filtered with a search box. Advanced Search has no further filter from a search box.
  • Itโ€™s very easy to switch temporarily from People List View to something like Pedigree View, Family View, or Descendant View and then to switch right back to People List View. Itโ€™s not so easy to make the same sort of transitions between the various People views and Advanced Search.
  • If your group is a Criterion Group, it has a one click refresh if you have edited people in such a way that it would remove them from the group.
