This report has had these problems for years. I am not sure why the developers aren’t getting this right. Haven’t reported it before, because I thought they would eventually fix it and I haven’t had time. I use this report a lot.
It does not seem to want to print in anything but Times New Roman in the box text. I change it to Arial as shown here, click “Generate” and it generates in Times New Roman no matter what font I select. See attached photo.
Would it be possible for it to keep the last settings Generated, after exiting from the report, such as Styles and Fonts (font, colors), Headers and Footer, Box Border type (defaults to indented corners), etc. ?
Good observation and call out – wonder if the fonts are actually controlled from another setting (similar to what @kbens0n described with descendant report)
My 64-bit Windows version of RM 11 seems to, not only, print Relationship Chart Box Text with any font… but remembers them, their point sizes and Person 2 – both after exiting Publish to another screen then back or closing out RM completely and restarting. I note that Times New Roman and Arial fonts look VERY similar in size, style, and darkness from within the Preview screen itself.
Box Border and Styles submenus are MISSING the counterclockwise arrow icons for Reset, that Header/Footer and Page submenus have. Box Border Type and Box Fill Color are not preserved after closing Relationship Chart screen. Box Border Line color and below are remembered even if program is closed and restarted.
Some of the same flaws as other Charts seem to have.
@pdwiggins --after playing around with this for a while, I think I see what is happening ----if you go in and set the DEFAULT font to Arial or as I did in my screenshot Lucida Calligraphy, it changes all 4 boxes to the same thing!
Style List
RootsMagic will display the list of styles used in the report. A style consists of more than just the font, it also includes text alignment, colors, indentation, spacing and other attributes. Some of these styles may be unique to the report, but others may be shared among multiple reports. In those cases, changing a style may affect other reports using that same style.
The first style listed is the “default” style. Other styles basically descend from the default style, but can be changed individually. If you modify an attribute of the Default style (like font face, font size, etc), any of the other styles with the same attribute will also be changed. For example, if you change the default font size from 11 to 13 point, all the report styles that were 11 point will also be changed to 13 point. Styles of any other size will not be affected.
