People List View loses its sort any time I change the filter. It sure would be nice if it wouldn’t lose its sort just because I change the filter.
It doesn’t seem to matter what kind of change I make to the filter. I can go from showing everybody to showing a group to showing a different group or to going back to showing everybody. I can go from no name filter to a name filter to a different name filter or back to no name filter. Any change loses the sort.
It goes without saying that we also need to get back the up or down pointing chevron at the top of the sort column to display what the current sort column is and whether the sort is currently up or down. RM7 had the chevron, but it pointed in the wrong direction. Going from a chevron that points in the wrong direction to no chevron at all is not an improvement.
-One factor linked to the various main screen View tab panes is the program’s “design” to paint within the frame of that View’s pane… the Individual shown in the Details pane. Filtering tries to do the same for criteria matches.
-Column sorting default is Name column (in the absence of other Selected column for sort), but any Column “re-sort” is “near” instantaneous and may be why it’s no longer preserved (post-filtering). Hardly an inconvenience in effort or time.
-The up / down chevron was certainly helpful to users (especially discovery / first use) and signaled which Sort column and direction, but that’s fairly evident to typical users who deal with these types of data regularly and have just clicked a particular column (with intent) to initiate a Column sort.
