Is there any way to move directly from the Edit Person screen to the same person in the People: Pedigree, Family or Descendants view?
Context: I’m checking out Sources and Media files which I’ve imported from Ancestry via Family Tree Maker by Gedcom (because the direct sync with Ancestry won’t work) and I’m not sure who they all link to, so I’m opening up the Edit Person screen from the Used/Tags listings. Sometimes I need to see the person in the context of their Pedigree though to really understand who they are, especially as the Edit Person screen does not include the Relationship marker.
Nope. Those particular Edit Person windows are opened in the “context” of being a child window of the parent screen (Sources, Media, Places) …instead of parent screen (People) where all those views (Pedigree, Family, Descendants, People, Couples, Associates) are accessed. (ie. can’t click off the source or media screen, to go to People, because it would have to close the child window showing Used).
There is no way that I can see BUT–on the edit screen next to the spouse’s name on the left is an arrow that lets you see other family members and you can click on any of these to go to their edit page
Thank you. That functionality is more helpful than I had appreciated as the Spouse arrow gives a list of all the children and the Parents arrow lists all the siblings too. I hadn’t noticed the back arrow either so that will help me move around.
By relationship marker, I mean the phrase on the top right of the Person View which says what relationship the person is to the root person. I wasn’t sure how to describe it. Pity it doesn’t show on the Edit Person screen too as I find it incredibly useful (except when there is more than one relationship…)
