Moving between panes on Edit Person Screen

I am trying to reduce the use of my mouse due to an injury. Is there a way to move from the left side of the Edit Person screen to the right side of the Edit Person screen without having to click on it? I see that there was a feature request back in 2021 but I do not see it listed in the Keyboard Shortcuts on the wiki. Thanks

One note that people may have the panes on opposite sides/reversed with their particular confutation setup

not sure which you are referring to - if people view you can right click edit like this

that will pull up same edit window as from the side panes

They definitely should implement this feature request.

I woud suggest they assign the same scheme used for Windows terminal

Alt + Down/Up/Left/Right

not sure same for Mac (mac key) but great suggestion (or even alt tab type switch)

YES !!

Also need this kind of shortcut for auto type automation.
Long overdue.
Although there may be limitations due to the development platform.

I should have been more specific in my first post. As an example, if I want to add a source, I open the edit person screen (thanks for the tip, even though it still uses the mouse). On the left pane, I can use the tab key to move up and down to select the fact I want to edit. In order to add the source, I need to move to the right pane to do any editing. The only way I can find to go to another pane is to use the mouse. Once in the right pane, I can now use the tab key to get to the field I want to edit. To open this screen without using the mouse, I can use the right arrow key. I am now in a third pane to add the source. Again the only way I can find to access anything on this screen is to click with my mouse. Then I can now use the tab key to move around and to close the screen. I also have not been able to find a way to reach the “back” arrow in any pane to return to the previous screen without clicking with my mouse.

Thanks

Tricia

As a second point, the first keyboard shortcut in the wiki, only opens the Add Association screen, even though it says Shift+Ctrl+A means add record

Shift+Ctrl+A functionality changes depending upon the specific menu tab that you are in:

People ==> Add Association

Places ==> Add Place

Sources ==> Add Source

etc.

Oh, now I feel a little stupid. I kept trying to access them from the People Screen. Doh!

In general I would agree that RM is a but clicky at time – often one or two click more than would seem ideal.

for shortcuts here is full list Keyboard Shortcuts

I was okay with the clicks until my mouse finger got hurt. I may have to go back to the 90’s when I taught myself to use my mouse with my left hand.:laughing:

Well bottom line for an accessibility POV there should be less clicks and more keyboard alternatives regardless

I injured my right arm and have used a mouse left handed for years. It just seems natural now.
