sounds like we might need more info.
Where do you normally work on family tree? Mac or Windows?
What RM version – what OS version? where are your RM databases? do you backup?
Thanks for your reply. I use windows. I was possibly using Roots7 I have updated to Roots 11.
Don’t think I backed up sorry I’m a lost cause
do you know where you database files are stored?
I think you may need to go to support
and go to live chat so someone can connect to your computer – unless you have a friend/family member who is more tech savy.
also it sounds like you were referring to the Ipad app which had very little to do with whats on th computer
I’m sort of repeating what has already been said, but if you have lost your data on your iPad that is of very little consequence. What matters as far as lost data or not is your Windows computer.
The suggestion to seek help from Product Support is an excellent. In order for us to help you on this forum, you would need to tell us more about what’s going on with RM on your Windows computer.
The RM App for iOS uses the .rmgc file. The RM11 database file is an .rmtree file. A converted copy to work on the app is sent by going to File, Export Data, Dropbox. It will then send the .rmgc file needed. Once you upload it in the app it no longer needs the file in Dropbox. The .rmtree file is still on your Windows computer. If you deleted the file in the app you can just upload it again.
