RootsMagic Mobile?

I am trying to run RM Mobile on my iPad and iPhone. Both are using Mac’s OS26, and don’t work for this ….. but they didn’t work on prior OSs either. I followed the directions and exported my RM file from my Mac to Dropbox. But, on my devices, RM just crashed when I try to import the file from Dropbox. No joy at all. The closest I got was going to the Dropbox app on my iPhone and downloading the file to the phone; going to RM Mobile, Files button and clicking On Device. It didn’t kill the app, but nothing happened either.

Any suggestions to get this to work correctly or is not a possibility?

Did you use File, Export Data, Dropbox to send it to the iOS device? Run the database tools in RM under File, Tools before sending and see if that helps. Another thing to try is installing the Dropbox app on your device too.

Yes, I did use the File, Export Data, Dropbox command. It was accepted by Dropbox and shows up on my devices. I have deleted and reinstalled a fresh version of RM and Dropbox on my devices. No joy. RM crashes every time.

I also ran the Database tools as you recommended and do have Dropbox on my devices. Nothing helps.

Have you tried copying the .rmgc file to the iPad/iPhone using iTunes?

I have successfully exported a file from RM11 to my iPad iPadOS26 using Dropbox. But I am using a Windows PC.

If your trees are on ancestry just use their free and currently updated app which downloads, views and edits your trees with media.

Thank you for this suggestion, but there is no longer any iTunes on the Mac, and hasn’t been for several OS versions. However, your idea did make me look at other ways to get that file onto my devices. I did get it on my iPhone, but it still would not open on RM Mobile. I even tried the On Device option. No joy. RMM just quits.

I can try that. I do have a different version of my tree on Ancestry. I will replace that one with my RM tree to see how that works for me. Thank you.
