I was playing with RM11 on Windows 10 and decided to create HTML websites to run with my local wampserver. There seemed to be no option for choosing who to include other than how many generations and, worse still, the website focused on the last person I’d edited (some distant relative) rather than the root person.
And then when I navigated to my father, only his first marriage and children were shown so I wasn’t even listed under him!
this issue was reported several days ago by Jerry
I assume you were making a Family Group Sheet Web site in the HTML format. That’s where the problem has already been reported.
There are actually several kinds of Web sites that can be generated in HTML format such as Pedigree Chart, ancestor book, and descendant book. As far as I know, the other formats do not have the problem. The only place I have seen the problem is when generating a Family Group Sheet Web site.
I thought it was limited to FGS but was not certain as I had not tested in RM11.
thanks for clarifying
I don’t see Jerry mentioning the focused person problem. I used Publish from the side menu then selected HTML Website.
then there may need other fixes and/or enhancements needed
I have done a little more testing. It turns out that Family group sheets, the Pedigree chart w/ group sheets, and the Alphabetical book all have the same problem of including everybody in your database. There is no option for who to include. So it needs to be fixed for all three of those options, not just for Family group sheets.
Pedigree charts, Ancestor books, and Descendant books all do start with the person who currently has the focus. And all three of these options do include an option for the number of generations in addition to starting with the person who currently has the focus. Does this answer the “focused person” question?
thanks - that is what I wondering and suspected might be the case. I guess that might mean when they fix it it will fix all “3’“.
it does for me.
