Fixed: FamilySearch WebSearch (broke when FS changed the search parameters)

What exactly was broken?

The reason I ask is that I’m still on RM7 and this problem will not be fixed in RM7. It appears that WebHints still work in RM7. Does the matching process with FamilySearch still work in RM7?

I’m thinking that what “exactly” was broken was the ability to do a FamilySearch WebSearch and then to bring the found data back into RM automatically. Is that correct? If that is what was broken, then I’m not affected because I do all my search of FamilySearch from outside of RM. But I do use the WebHints and the matching with FamilySearch in RM7.

It is the format of the URL required for the query to FamilySearch that has changed. RM7’s built-in query produces:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?givenname=John&surname=Doe&any_year=1700-1800~

Now the required URL is:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results?q.anyDate.from=1700&q.anyDate.to=1800&q.givenName=John&q.surname=Doe

It’s easy enough to use RM7’s Manage Search Providers option at the bottom of the Search Providers drop-down list to add a Custom Search Provider for FamilySearch that uses the new URL. And one can delist the built-in one.
