Does anyone know how to export to a spreadsheet or print an Advanced Search after you define the criteria and run the search? I know how to save it, but I would really like to be able to export it to a spreadsheet so I can sort the data different ways as I analyze it.
You would need to generate a list-type report using the search criteria (or using a group created by the search criteria) and save it as a XLSX file. The report could be a Custom one.
In addition to making groups, it is now possible to save searches. I tend to prefer groups, but both groups and saved searches will work.
As Tom indicated, you can’t report directly from a search. It’s the other way around. You initiate a report, then you filter the report to select the people. You can filter the report by a search or by a group or by a saved search.
The best reports to use for this purpose are usually the Individual List report or a Custom Report. The Individual List report is easier to use, and the Custom Report is more powerful if you want a lot information about each person. Either kind of report can be saved as an *.xlsx file or as an *.csv file so that it can be imported into a spreadsheet.
