I have made some major changes to several of my source/citations in RootsMagic. Is my only option to update information on Ancestry.com to upload RootsMagic to a new tree?

Hi and welcome back! It does not require you to create a new tree, but there are some caveats that apply to this. You can use TreeShare to update the sources, but Ancestry will not recognize them as their own sources anymore, and keep hinting them to you. Also, this creates a new source in Ancestry since the fields no longer match.
I have a very specific source/citation pattern that I set up in RM. I know it will result in either duplicates showing in Ancestry (because I leave the existing ones and also add the updated ones) but Ancestry is not my source of truth so I don’t care too much about that.
Not sure if that answered your question but I wanted to give it a shot. I’m sure there are others who can answer it more eloquently than I did.
