Here is a discussion in the then RootsMagic Forums that resurfaces in similar ways with each new generation of RM users. Not much has changed. And the ‘source conversion utility’ that Bruce Buzbee was reportedly working on then has not yet materialised. Some of us who contributed to the discussion then are active in this successor forum; sadly, many are not, having been lost to declining health, interest or other software.
I think it makes for interesting and informative reading, even today.

That’s unfortunate. I’ve not had a problem accessing more of that collection since my post but maybe I’m the cause of yours. I’ve been progressing through the RootsMagic 7>Discussion forum scanning topics and opening the odd one. Now on page 44 of 89, 30 topics per page.
Lots of “same old, same old” but also many issues resolved. It was a lively board, moreso than this one, but I don’t think the Facebook group existed then. The independent users mailing list predated the Forums and may have been still active at that time.
