When I try to add a media tag associated with a fact from one person with another person, a dialogue box asks to me to select a “Tag type”. Tag types are very limited and don’t nearly address all the tag types. The dialogue box is labeled “Add or Edit Media Tag”, but I see no options to do either of those. Example: I need to tag a 2nd person with immigration data from another person, but immigration is not option on the tag list. Any suggestions?
The Tag type Menu you need is EVENT. This will allow you to pick the Fact Event you wish to tag the media to.
First you need to select the Person, which will bring up all their Events. Make sure that this person already has the Event.
another method is to use DRAG n DROP Method – (From Windows File Explorer)
if a tag does not already exist for person (or fact, citation, etc). it will ADD but not duplicate.
It depends on which method works better for the individual and their work flow.
Good suggestion. I’ll see if that doesn’t make this easier. I was concerned about duplicating images and having to reenter captions, descriptions, etc. Sounds like it won’t happen. Thanks.
I’ve not thought of this, and it sounds pretty easy. I’ll definitely give it a try.
