Search in RootsMagic 8

In this thread What happens to RM 8 now that RM 9 is released - #4 by kfunk Renee said that if you just start typing in the search function it will begin the show the results without having to hit the Find button.

Don’t hit enter in the search box. Just enter the text you are searching for and it will display it.

I have to click on the find button at the top with my mouse to get it to search. I’m using v8.5.0.0 How does it work for you? Does your list of results populate automatically or do you have to click on the Find button to get the list of results?

Yes, you do have to ht the find. I think Renee may have been thinking about the index or something.

I just tried, the index, which I don’t normally use and it does work without hitting a find button.
