Recommending a Program Change

When a recommendation on a program change, is it best to do it here so others can provide there agreement or to do it directly to support?

In my opinion – definitely do it here - that way others can chime in on their thoughts and RM can have a better understanding of what other wants.

some features may only desired by a few (or one even) – other times / things may have large crowd. The only way to know is to post here and tag with feature request.

Actually-- related this topic it would be nice a β€œWish List” section – people could then vote and rank suggestion changes/enhancements – then RM would really have a good idea of what community thing things – this would be a website enhancement.

I have see this done on many software sites.

There was a Wish List section on the old RM Users Forum but not with polling or succinct listing|summary.

Anyone know of a website that provides such a list ranking service? Sort of like the site some webinars use to rank popularity of attendee questions.
If such a site exists, maybe one of us could create an RM wish list.

The ability to put together a wish list is a great idea for as long as Bruce will agree to review. Then if something is determined to be "lots of programing, logic change, heuristically feasible, then it can be agreed. There would have to be a grouping of feasible with further research, not feasible at this time, and will be looked at a later point. I know that in one of the Family Tree Maker groups they run it by a Google sheets method.

I try to avoid directly mentioning competitors but this is one example

Walked through it as if there as a new program enhancment that been requested, this very promising. There is still the actual usage from creation to the voting, what is a possible count, vote percentage to implement, etc. But for a limited walk though it is very promising. Do you have the additional details on how to set up and then operate with? Also, can columns or field be added, updated and deleted as it matures in usage?

Sorry to make sure you understand that link was NOT for RootsMagic (as for Family Historian)-- but would be nice if RM has something had something similar

Since that is a 20+ year user-operated site, it would seem completely doable by a group with similar concerns in the RM realm.
