Rearrange Citations

How does the “Rearrange Citations” button work? (Edit person > click the Sources icon on the left. Then it displays all the citations for the person. The up/down arrow icon is rearrange citations.) I can click any citation in the list, then click rearrange citations, a message pops up “There are no citations to rearrange.” I don’t find anything in Help about it.

Thanks

Jeff

It does not support rearranging from the first screen you see. Rather, it supports rearranging the citations for any particular fact such as Birth or Death. So click the All Citations button and from there, choose the fact for which you wish to rearrange citations. After you get to that point, figuring out how rearrange just those citations is pretty straightforward.

Aha! Ok thanks Jerry.

I’ve found that ‘all citations’ isn’t really all. It is for General only. If you want to rearrange other citations (birth, residence, marriage etc), you have to select the fact type, click the rearrange arrange and then you can rearrange that fact citations. Unless I am missing something to truly do all the citations.

You are correct it’s only rearranging general, fact, name, or family sources. If you leave it on all citations it will by default rearrange the general media. You will see that at the top of the rearrange screen that comes up.
