Old RM tree on Ancestry- keep or delete

I have an old RM tree on Ancestry that has not been maintained. I want to start using TreeShare (RM to Ancestry). Should I just delete the outdated tree on Ancestry and start over?
Thanks

You don’t have to delete the old tree if you don’t want as maybe there is something in it that you don’t have in your RM tree-- just make sure that your new Tree Shared tree has a different name than the one on Ancestry

I would NOT delete the Ancestry tree.

You did not say if the old Ancestry tree is connected to your computer RM data.

IF they are connected (meaning you at some point used TreeShare) you can just use TreeShare to update Ancestry.

IF they are NOT connected, you can TreeShare from Ancestry into a NEW database OR upload to Ancestry with a different name.

The problem is that now you have 2 databases and you would need to use Compare Databases to update the linked database.

Sorry but if a new tree is downloaded won’t that mean getting your own old tree as hints ?

That’s what I have with FMP -I recognise my notes

In the Ancestry Privacy settings online you can mark the tree private and check to “Also prevent your tree from being found in searches.” That should stop you from see it show up as hints.
