On the Home page in RM 11, no matter if I click the “Mark All As Read” button or click the individual News items, a red circle with a number reappears when I reopen the program or jump to a new tree. This is irritating. It should only show when there are unread news items.
Does they key and download regions fit? Meaning did you buy the US license from rootsmagic.com and download directly from there? The reason I ask is there can be issues with the news clearing when the key and download don’t match.

I’m not sure why it continues to show items unread. You could try clearing the .xml file for the program settings and see if that helps. You would have to reset the settings afterwards. In a main view use the key command Ctrl+Shift+U and select to reset program settings. Then close RM and reopen.
