Importing GEDCOM from Ancestry to FMP

I UPLOADED MY GEDCOM FROM ANCESTRY INTO FIND MY PAST. IT UPLOADED FINE BUT THERE ARE NO HINTS ON ANY OF TREE AT ALL. i AM UNSURE WHETHER I NEED TO USE SOFTWARE TO CONVERT IT SOMEHOW. I DONT WNT TO LOSE ANY INFO AS THERE IS 30 YEARS WORTH OF WORK GONE INTO THIS TREE!!!

Normally, there is no need to convert anything, and with my GEDCOM, coming from another program, FMP does show hints for my English ancestors. OTOH, when you have RootsMagic installed, there are much nicer ways to get hints from FMP, and other sites, like FamilySearch, and My Heritage.

To get those to work, you can tell RootsMagic to download your tree from Ancestry, and once it’s in RootsMagic, that will look for hints on all those sites, and for FamilySearch, it will even give you a chance to download new data.

RootsMagic will receive Findmypast hints, but it doesn’t work with a specific tree there. You would need to ask Findmypast support on why you haven’t see hints on your tree uploaded there. You can download the Ancestry tree into RM using Ancestry TreeShare. It will include the media which a GEDCOM import would not. Once in RM it will display hints for FMP.
