Importing 1 part of an entry from Ancestry

Hi, my first question on using RootsMagic, which so far I really like. The purpose is to have a full and complete tree backed up on my computer, so that I can access it even if I don’t have internet.

I imported my Gedcom file from Ancestry and had no real problems yet. But I made a large update on one person in my tree. I wonder if there is some way to import the changes to just that one person into RootsMagic? Or indeed make the changes in RootsMagic then export (share?) to Ancestry.

There is also an ancillary question. I have the free version while I determine if it is something I want to pay for and keep. So it has not imported the media files, of which there are many. Can I import all the media later, or does the rootsMagic database simply update to include them, or do I have to download the whole database again?

With the free version RootsMagic Essentials you can download the Ancestry Tree using TreeShare. In the free version you won’t be able to update afterwards, but once you purchase and unlock the program that part will work. I would recommend downloading using TreeShare, it will include the new person you just added along with your media. You will need to create a new file and select to “Download from an Online Tree”.
