How do I search for a person by first name?

RootsMagic 7 had NameFind. How do I find a person by first name in RootsMagic 8?

Try using search tab.

There are probably several ways. Probably the most direct is to use the new search box in the index window. Just type in the first name and the index will show you everyone who has the name as a first name or last name or as part of some other name.

OK, I neglected to mention the comma. If you type the name followed by a comma the program will show last names that match. If you type the name beginning with a comma it will show first names that match.

Person Search in RM8 works like Name Find in RM7.
After clicking “Search” in the toolbar in the left panel, Person Search is the first icon on the left.
