Fact Type Needing Sentence Templates

I’ve moved my database over from Legacy Family Tree and I have some facts that need a sentence template. I’m not sure why some are a fact eg Ann Campbell and Proceedings of the Old Bailey. See images below. Should I just delete these?

Are they a type of fact in the Legacy database? “Proceedings” sounds like a source. “Ann” could be a source or person. Sounds like an error in the transfer.

Did you import directly from the Legacy file or via GEDCOM export.

I imported via a GEDCOM. I thought they might have been event/facts from Legacy but I can’t see where eg Old Bailey Proceedings is coming from. It would be one of my convicts. I’ve done an Event Report from Legacy but that’s given me all the events and not event type. I’ll keep looking.

Is there a way to find out who is using that Fact? I don’t seem to see that as an option. Thanks.

Brilliant. Thank you.

The 32-bit version of RM will do a direct import of Legacy rather then doing a gedcom.

Thank you. When I went to try the direct import a few days back it wouldn’t do it. I’ve just tried again and it’s worked. It certainly appears to be a lot ‘cleaner’ for want of a better word, than the Gedcom. Thanks for the nudge to try it again.

yes this is mentioned but not obvious. (I do not recall why the 64b cant)

It has something to do with the library needed to do the direct import is only available in 32-bit so the 64-bit version of RM can not use it.

some of the details though technical might be helpful to know

Basically, what others have said is correct. Legacy is a 32 bit program. RM uses a function library to read the Legacy database. That function library is a 32 bit library. Therefore, only the 32 bit RM can import directly from Legacy.

I do not know why Legacy remains as a 32 bit program. I do not know why the function library that RM uses to read the Legacy database doesn’t have a 64 bit version.

yes that is what I was wondering about.

My guess is the problem stems from Legacy using the Access Database Engine, but needing a rewrite (that may be in the works).

Legacy 9 came out in 2017 and the latest release in 2024. Probably no update for sometime.

Legacy 10 came out in June 2024. It’s now free, no purchase necessary. Still a very good program, I just wanted to be able to link to Ancestry. Legacy links to My Heritage and Family Search. It supports Windows 11 32bit and 64bit.

When MyHeritage bought Legacy, we were told that there would be only one new version in the future. Version 10 came, and that for free. Why? I have my toughts.
