Hello. I transferred my rm8 data from my old MAC to a removable flash drive, and into my rm11 database on my new MAC, but finding that the data appeared in my rm11 database on my new MAC , is read only. Can someone help me do the proper transfer?
Make sure the RM8 file has the extension .rmtree and not .rm8. Save the file from the flash drive to your computer. Right click on the file and select Get Info, and check if it’s “read only”. If so, then change it to “read & write”. After it’s “read & write” it should open in RM11 and be converted.
What I meant to say was I downloaded rm11 onto my old computer, moved my files into rm11 on old computer, THEN downloaded rm11 onto NEW computer and attempted to transfer data from rm 11 on old computer to new computer. I ended up with a read-only file.
So, after posting here, I changed the extension (thank you!), moved the files to my desktop and into rm11. Everything working perfectly. So appreciative.
