Copying FamilySearch ID Number

Is there an easier way to copy a FamilySearch ID number apart from clicking to edit a person, clicking Options, and then clicking “Copy FamilySearch ID”? I wish you could just click on the FamilySearch ID number while at the Pedigree or People window. This would get me to the FamilySearch information quicker. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Didn’t say if you were on Windows or a Mac-- this would work for Windows-- Turn on Show Family Search ID # in settings under the general tab

Not sure it would be any quicker BUT you could hold down
the windows key --Shift and T ( the letter T) —all at the same time
and you will get a box that looks like this..

Once this has opened, go to the left side of the page and draw a square around the Family search Id # and it should copy the text that you can then paste wherever you want— BUT the key is that it has to be quite a big square that you put around the number to work

Would what you are trying to do be easier if you just used jump to Family Search?

If your aim is to “use” that FamilySearch ID to paste “at” the FamilySearch website…
… just right-click upon the the Person and select Jump to>Jump to FamilySearch

Yes, I am on Windows 11 and should have included that information. But, thank you so much for the information. That really helps.

I’m a newbie to Roots Magic 11 just beginning to learn my way around the program, so this information is quite helpful. Thank you!
