I added a person manually to RM10 and then tried to link him using his FamilySearch ID number G6T1-HBB. I got the message, “No matches for G6T1-HBB have been found on FamilySearch”. Is anyone else having this issue?
It’s behaving like a living person would. FamilySearch keeps living and deceased individuals on different servers. When a death fact is added to a living person it will move to a different server. It could be stuck on the wrong server still. I tried changing the death year and then changed it back again to see if that would make a difference and it’s not.
About the only option I can think of is to delete this person on FS, which only the person that added them can do. You could try merging them into a deceased copy of themselves (giving them a different FSID) and see if that fixes it. It would be rather hard to get FamilySearch Support to understand the issue needs to go to their developers to fix. On FS support’s end (website) it would look fine, and they would say it’s a RM problem. There is something in the background causing it to appear as a living person in the FT API. That’s not something RM can fix on our end.
You need to be a little more detailed. I doubt any else would have worked with G6T1-HBB but we can’t presume that. Are you saying this is the first time this has happen or has it happened before? Is the person you are working with showing “Living or Deceased”? Can you see G6T1-HBB if you go on Family Search. Did you also add that person?
If a person is living, and you cannot see him on Family Search, how would you know the FSID?
One last note: If that person was merged with another person and is not the “survivor” you will not be able to use that FSID
