I was trying to create a descendants chart and this message popped up. When I click on different reports, the same message pops up. I tried exiting the program and restarting the computer, but no luck. Is this a bug of the new update?
You’ve tried what I normally suggest. At this point I would do an uninstall/reinstall of the program.
I saw that “issue” before – I do not recall what I did to resolve-- I might try installing the opposite version (32b vs 64bit ver) and see if that clears it
Try Save to .PDF and then printing from an outside app. If that doesn’t work…maybe something at Solve printing problems on Mac - Apple Support might help.
It doesn’t excuse the need for a fix, but for a variety of reasons I never print from RM. Depending on what I’m trying to accomplish, I always save reports as a PDF file or as a DOCX file and print from there.
It’s a fairly easy habit to get into. First of all, be sure that you have a reasonable default folder set up. I presently have my RM set up to save reports to OneDrive. But I’m in the process of moving away from using OneDrive at all, as are many Windows users.
Then, I typically give my reports the same name over and over again, either t.pdf or t.docx. I’m not really saving them and the name doesn’t matter if I’m not really saving them. I’m a Windows user and Windows opens *.pdf files and *.docx files with a default program for that file type. That’s where you can do the actual printing. In addition to being good for the actual printing, the Windows default program for those file types is also likely to be a much better viewer than is RM’s built-in report viewer. I assume that the situation on a Mac is pretty much the same.
On the occasions where I do want to save a report more permanently, I simply give it a better name than just t.pdf or t.docx
Unfortunately I think this is the route I will have to go. Hopefully that will do it.
I’m running Windows. But I can’t even make it that far to try saving to PDF. Once I click on a report the message comes and won’t let me go any further.
I have seen this problem for a couple of years. I always save the report to PDF and then print from it.
