Has anyone else noticed that sometimes when you upload a new spouse to Ancestry TreeShare the sex of the spouse is then wrong on Ancestry? This seems to happen mostly for female spouses. This has happened several times. In each case, I verified the sex was correct in my RM9 database when I uploaded the spouse.
I’ve seen that happen. More so when there are more than one spouse for the person. Not sure why Ancestry is flipping them.
I find it happens when a marriage fact is added to a couple after the fact. RootsMagic is sending a second instance of gender that is always male. The result in Ancestry is, with the alternate gender sent, a female becomes “male.” I reported this during the RM8 Community preview days, but it occurred in RM7 also.
This is happening to me as well with RM10
Yes it is still occurring.
I see this fairly frequently but I haven’t been able to determine why it’s happening. I normally see it after I’ve been doing maintenance and uploading an entire family. I suspect it happens when you add a spouse via a marriage event, but no definite reproduction of it.
What did Ancestry say about this?
