Ancestry tree updaten

hello,

i have much problems to make a new family tree from toorsmagic, every time if i want to publish with pictures and facts after 3 % it stuck, i did it already 20 times.. now i only publish the people, and it seems to look good, is it then possible that you can als later all the fact can update at once to ancesty or must this one by one ?

After the fact is always one by one. It’s obviously better to upload everything in the initial upload if you can get it to work.

In my experience, it’s not uncommon for an upload to get stuck, but it’s unusual to get stuck at 3%. Mine usually get stuck at 99% if they get stuck. I wish I had better advice about how to get unstuck. How fast is your Internet?

You didn’t say if you are using a Mac or Windows on computer/laptop or phone --what version of RM 11 – 32 bit or 64-- synching to a cloud such as drop box etc --dual monitors?

I am assuming you are using Tree Share to upload your database..

You also didn’t say how much media you have to upload or how larger your database is ( # of people etc)…

As Jerry said 3% is very uncommon and would suggest something with an internet connection or computer BUT then you said you were able to upload people only..
It could have been that you encountered a time frame when Ancestry was having issues that cleared up before you added just the People–keep in mind that there is an 8 hr time difference between Ancestry’s main location and you ( BUT I have no idea where they keep their files or if they have a European Center) – this MIGHT help in the future BUT you MIGHT have to Find the European version

Or it could be that they were extremely busy as with the snows and near zero temps the last few days in the U. S. , I am sure they had a lot more traffic…

In order to at least get the facts uploaded, here is what I suggest…

  1. Run all the database tools in RootsMagic ( RM) listed under Tools on the left side-- they are at the top of the list under database tools–if you find a problem, post that info on here and others can help you out probably–or you may have to open a ticket with support-- if you have no problem, then close RM and reopen it. MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR FILE before closing it!!!
  2. Make sure you are NOT synching to the cloud…
  3. In order to upload a new file , you have to Disconnect from Ancestry --note if this fails, you can always either just add the people again or restore your database from the backup file…
  4. On the Upload screen for Tree Share, UNCHECK MEDIA for the 1st go around MAKE SURE YOU CHANGE THE NAME OF YOUR DATABASE SLIGHTLY–add a date or just a number to the name- if it works, great-- if it doesn’t work then try Tree Share again BUT this time UNCHECK MEDIA AND SOURCES–
    I don’t know if notes could cause a problem–some have said html files will cause a problem …

IF THAT DOESN"T WORK, DO NOT BACK UP YOUR DATABASE–either try reloading people only and / or RESTORE FILE from BACK UP which will relink to the database you were working on at Ancestry–after you are relinked to Ancestry, then you can BACK UP your file..

Good Luck-- have my fingers crossed and Let us know, how it all turns out…

Couple other things you MIGHT try BEFORE Tree Sharing again
Clean out your Cache and Cookies-- this may cause you to sign back into Ancestry and other items
Make Sure you Have NO BLOCKING Marked on the Browser page you are using to access Ancestry --MIGHT even try using a different browser and if it’s not a real hassle, you MIGHT even reboot your computer…

Hello,

I have Windows 11, 1gb upload en 1gb download, 32 bits version Rootsmagic 11 , my number of people is 115158, i have very much pictures (from nobel people) and from my site of the family all the birth-, death and marriage certificates from about 2000 people.

So yesterday it work to upload to 100% when i only selected that it uploaded alle the people, and unchecked the sources and multimedia.. i take your advise to do the steps you say, maybe this help
