RM11 - Is it possible to add a “fact” to multiple people at the same time, or do they each need to be added individually?
For example I might want to add a “census fact” - date, details and a media item (say jpeg), to family members, but not to everyone in the family, lets sat the parents and 4 of the 8 children - is it possible, or do they each need to be added individually?
When you copy the desired fact, try marking “Families”. You can select multiple people from there. That should work well for census events.
Also, adding a fact to multiple people is essentially what “Shared Facts” do. Each person sharing the fact gets assigned a ‘role’ and roles can have different fact sentences. There are important caveats. Shared facts aren’t supported by many other programs which might be a big deal if you copy your data to other genealogy tools, ancestry for example.

To copy a fact, right click on the fact and select “Copy selected fact”. You can also click on the 3 dot menu and select it there. There is also an option on the Tools page to “Add a fact to everyone in a group”. It will add the fact but doesn’t include attachments like notes, media, sources and tasks.

I think the question has been answered already in the affirmative. But technically speaking, you cannot “add a fact to multiple people at the same time”. What you can do instead is to add a fact to one person and then immediately without even leaving the Edit Person screen copy the fact you just added to multiple people all at the same time.
The “copy fact” feature has a gazillion many powerful options as to how you choose the people to receive the copy of the fact. But has already been mentioned, the option that’s often most useful is to click on the Mark > Families option.
You won’t see the Families option until after clicking the Mark box. Many of the options you will see after clicking Mark can be very useful. It’s just that the Families option is the most useful for things like the Census fact.
