Note that Windows screenshots of this issue are not possible nor W11 snipping tool because it outside what it can capture – I used Camtasia to record issue.
This happens occasionally but not consistently. The artifact will move if close/disconnect the main monitor it will move to secondary and then move back if switched back on.
Never had it happen in RM 10 on any of my computers. This is my only RM11 computer. Its possible a windows update also occurred around same time as upgrade to Rm11. I was waiting to report but not it happens a few times person week.
@rzamor1 the only other thing that could be contributing is MS Power Tools (which I mainly installed for other options File explorer that were lost in W11 vs W10
also I previously always ran 64bit RM – with RM11 I installed 32b
Yes I can run RM10, RM11 or RM7 in this desktop – I skipped the others as there did not seem much point – I am going to see if powerTools might be causing it – it has options for keep windows active so should rule that out first. It does not happen every day just a few times per week
I have seen fragments of the RM window remain as well, even after the process was killed.
Nothing quite as dramatic as in your video. Mine are just pieces of the window frame.
Have you tried restarting the video driver?
You can do it with a keystroke- ctrl+Shift+Win+B
You’ll hear a single beep then the screen will flash once.
These are the kind of things that I think are caused by the cross platform development platform. Nothing RM Inc can do except report it to their vendor and hope they fix it.
I still find problems in RM 11 regarding window Z position placement- that is, the order windows are overlaid over each other. This has persisted since RM v8 and I have the same issue on multiple computers (including my brand new Geekom IT13). I’ve only seen it when I’m switching between Chrome and RM when doing copy and pastes.
When the RM windows get out of order, RM is stuck and only emits a beep when any RM window is clicked. There is no fix except to click on the RM icon in the Windows task bar.
I’ve trained myself to do this quickly, so it hardly slows me down anymore.
Good Idea – I have not used that for awhile - forgot about that option.
Lol – yeah it is hard to describe – so I figured a video was best way to demonstrate.
Glad I am not alone.
I updated MS PowerTools (and turned off the window on top option), and BIOS update (previous one was few months ago) we will see if it go away (or mostly)
