RM Screen artifact left after closing program – not sure if its because I have new computer but its seem to be more likely to do with the most resent updates.
Computer is new and W11 with all update installed.
RM 10.0.8
notice the RM10 window frame– notice task bar showing program is not open.
Task manager confirms RM not running
[EDIT] have 2 monitors and this only seems to occur to what is designated as the main monitor is display settings
Read a little abt this but no expert–some say to go in and start to change the color resolution and it should close --then as I understand just abort changing the resolution-- others say to click anywhere on screen to change the focus to that monitor or maybe click on the other monitor to change focus–anyway–I did a search using the title above and added using dual monitors.
Hope it helps to at least get rid of it quickly but you need to probably do a deep dive on the cause or maybe using dual monitors..
never had this type of program at home – and I was running dual monitor for years with RM and other apps. I did see a similar issue with work computer. Not sure if it relates to display port.
I’m wondering if its a Windows 11 issue. I’m current on all my updates but I can’t recall when that last update came out. This morning I had part of another program showing through my OneNote. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t RM. I almost think it was my calculator. I’ll have to watch and see if it happens again. When I moved OneNote to see what was behind it, it fixed the issue.
it seems to be more Windows related although I also ran the Dell updates when I got it.
Since the program is not running unless there is some sort of sub-process (RM?) – it could be a graphics driver issue. So far it has only happened with RM (Closing program).
Kevin, FWIW - I did a generic search which resulted in some additional ideas for you to consider:
after closing program the window frame remains
Noting I’m still on Win 10 and haven’t tried installing the RM update yet: Probably unrelated, but 2 other ideas to test, 1) Windows, System, Personalization, Lock screen, turn off Get fun facts, tips, etc.,; and 2) turn off Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen.
it does not occur regularly or on demand (yet) so I do not know if the the order of steps of how I close program matters. It only happens 1x or 2x per week. I do have Windows PowerToys enabled. (Mainly so I can resize image files in batch— that was disabled with W11 in file explorer.
