TreeShare will work with an Ancestry guest account. Access to downloading media would be the only restriction on the Ancestry side. If you have RM Essentials though it won’t share data back and forth after the initial upload.
Well, I went ahead and jumped with both feet! I have to say - “so far so good.”
I played with the lite free version then went ahead and downloaded the full version a couple of days ago.
It is very much different than what I was used to but it really isn’t all difficult. My book should arrive today … but I have been to find everything I have needed so far.
I am pleasantly surprised, and I know as I get more familiar with the program, I will like it even better.
Thanks for all the help and advice. I greatly appreciate everyone’s input. Thanks.
I purchased version 8 and version 9 and wasted my money. I didn’t like either one and saw no advantage over version 7 except there were more graphics. Neither one were any easier to use. So far I haven’t seen any reason to purchase version 10 so with stick with 7.
I stick with RM7 because I do not need the new features for the most part and data entry is much easier and quicker. One gets far fewer error messages than one gets with the release of new versions.
If you want to experiment with the newer features, I would upgrade to RM10 because it should fix some of the bugs that showed up in 8 and 9. RM10 has the look and feel of versions 8 and 9. I always buy the new versions as they come out and try them out before deciding whether or not new features and a totally new look are what I want and need.
I’m with you. After using RM7 for years, I tried RM 9/10 and personally found the revamped UI to be counter-intuitive and harder to navigate. RM7 does everything I need and performance is still very stable on Windows 11, so I find no compelling reason to upgrade at this time. Just my personal preference and subjective opinion.
