I am trying to use a state census record as a source but cannot find a source type similar to the “census US federal(Onlne images”.
You could copy the source template and tweak it.

There are a couple of state census templates immediately following the federal templates. They can be copied and tweaked if need be. They are ‘Census, U.S. State (FHL Microfilm)’ and ‘Census, U.S. State (off-site)’.

Or you could create your own free-form based on ESM’s Evidence Explained, but @kfunk has an easier solution
