Some text invisible in Details field of Edit Person screen

Using latest RM10 on Win 11.
Relatively trivial issue but an irritant.
In the edit person screen, when I highlight a fact that contains two lines of text in the Details field, the second line of the text is ‘invisible’ - a black background.
Is there a setting for this?

Settings>Display>uncheck “High Contrast Grid Highlight”

Thank you Bob.
Brilliant!!
Problem solved.
But I wonder why it would ever need to be enabled? Or what it means?

Are you referring to the Description field found in most facts? Or the place details?

The description is allowed to be only one line, that is, a new line character is not allowed to entered.
If the data was imported, then there may be multi line descriptions.

BobC was quick to suspect high contrast and perhaps Show relative events

It’s just an extra option. I don’t believe it is the default, so You must have enabled inadvertently or because of it name. Possibly useful because all displays are different panel technologies, resolutions, nits or dots per inch, age and saturation, etc. and it may or not work with your particular RM10 Theme color (same Display Settings menu) combination or the font results.

Ok, so we’re talking about the details column of the fact list.
Never noticed that it is labeled Details.
In your screen capture, the highlight color is very intense. I don’t see that.

That’s from my (i5 1240p) laptop’s 1080p inbuilt screen. Some Theme colors are even worse than Green.

In my experience, the standard highlight is much too weak and is very difficult to see. There is just too little contrast between white (not highlighted) and the standard highlight. That is why I would love to use the High Contrast highlight all the time. However, I can’t use it.

The problem I run into with the High Contrast highlight is that if I turn it on, I can’t see the icons in the Edit Person screen for things like notes, sources, and media. The dark highlight completely covers up the icons. What needs to happen instead is that the icons become bright white so they are visible and stand out in contrast to the dark background. If that were to happen, I would happily turn on the High Contrast highlight.

I confess that I wouldn’t see the problem you see with the second line for facts. I have always much preferred the one line per fact version of the fact display. The place I can change the option is to click 3 Dots > Options in Edit Person. I then uncheck the Display description / relation on separate row in cell option. You might try that option to see if it meets your needs. I suspect that I am in the minority in that most users prefer to keep that option checked so they have a two line per fact display. Or maybe many users don’t even know the option exists and the two line per fact display is the default.

Thank you Richard. I was referring to the Details field/column in the Edit Person screen. In the case of a fact that includes Description and Place, two lines appear in the Details column. I was unaware of the single line limitation in the Description field.

Display description / relation on separate row in cell option !!!
I never knew it existed. I like it.
You learn something new every day
Thank you
