Ever since I updated RM 10 with the latest update I have had runtime error 217 when shutting down the programme.
Close RootsMagic. Shutdown your computer to a complete Power Off. Restart and try RM again. If it still occurs, re-install RM 10 to the same program folder.

I have had runtime error 217 ever since RM8 or RM9–originally would pop up while I was working BUT not only pop up when closing the program but not every time— doesn’t seem to have any data lose and is just annoying…
So what are you doing before you close the program–such as there was a know problem when using descendant view—if you go into descendant view and use the arrow/chevron next to the top male to go up to his parents, you would get an access violation right away— BUT if you went down one generation, there was no error and you were fine UNTIL you closed the program, then you would always get a 217 runtime error— not sure the problem with descendant list still happens…
This issue could be caused by windows system files damage or corrupt system files entries. See if any of these suggestions help.
Edge is part of the Windows operating system. If you have removed it that could have damaged the operating system. RM needs Edge to work.
