RootsMagic Update (11.0.2) Install

Windows 10. Installed 11.0.2.

I discovered in the list of programs installed two entries for RM. One for 11.0.1 and one for 11.0.2. This list was in the the ‘Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features‘ not the list of Apps from Settings (which I did not check).

I uninstalled 11.0.1. The result was both entries were now gone.

Fix: Downloaded and reinstalled 11.0.2 and all was well.

There is an issue if you have your installation anywhere other than on the C drive. If that is the case with you then when you update it RM will install a new updated version in the C Program Files folder but leave the previous un-updated installation where it was. Has only happened since V11 of RM.

If I have not installed 11.1 and now there is 11.2 —- do I have have to install both, in order, or are both things in 11.2 ???

Yep! They are cumulative.

Just to be sure I am right ---- I will only have to install 11.2 ???

Yes you only need to install 11.2

All software updates, even on Windows, becomes or installs the latest version. Best to keep all software current (except perhaps Windows Terrible Tuesday updates).

No, you only have to install 11.0.2. There is no version 11.2.
