Have not used roots magic 9 for awhile and it will open
Goto the folder where RM9 is installed. Find the file named RootsMagic.exe (.dmg or whatever the equivalent is for Mac) and start the executable. Does it give you any error message?
.dmg is a disk image for installation and not a runable program file. go to the RM website and download the current version RM10 .
If you cannot get RM9 to start after all attempts, you can download and run the installer to the same folder as the original install.
