Hello. Using RM 9.1.6. I saw that this was an issue in RM8 so I was trying to find out if there was something different for RM9. When I click on Tasks I get a long list of tasks, and when I select a particular task, the Edit window comes up on the right hand side. However nowhere that I can find shows me the person(s) under whom the task was created. Now I figured out that I can Print a report of the tasks in that report, each task lists the person. This is a document to save or print.
Why can’t that person’s name show up in the main Task List or the Edit Task window? It would be spectacular if the name were included and when clicked upon a separate window pop up with that person so that any edits that need to be done from completing the task could be inserted directly without having to back out of the task list, find the person, complete the edit, close the person, go back to the Task list and start over.
Of course I can print out the task list and carry it with me when I am going around to places for research but that seems a bit much. So either I am missing some setting or feature or it should be seriously consider as an add-on.
A task can be linked to multiple people, events, places, and associations. On the Edit Task panel scroll down to Used and open it. This will show you everyone and everything that has a link to that task. The name of a person does not automatically show in the task name because more than one person could be using that task, or no individual at all. The naming of the task is left for the user to decide the best approach.
When on the Task Used list there is an Edit (Pencil) icon to open and edit the item linked to it. There are also icons to Add, Delete and Add or Edit Task link.
I think the design of task could be improved or made more intuitive at least to the general population of users.
There are many options / ways to use tasks and share them also. Those abilities are great, but the reporting UI viewing could use improvement to satisfy more users, Creating ask are fairly straight forward managing and view them depending on how user assigned them might not be – at the the moment I can not suggest a way to improve them.
