The RM7 way of doing it was always to place the selected person in the leftmost position of Pedigree View. Starting with RM8 and continuing through RM11, sometimes the selected person is placed in the leftmost position but more commonly the selected person is placed as the parent of the left most position. I’m not persuaded whether the logic is totally the same throughout RM8 through RM11 because I have never been able to figure out what logic is used.
The RM7 way of doing it meets my needs much better than the RM8 through RM11 way of doing it, so I would like to have the RM7 way of doing to be restored. But what I really want is something better than either one. Namely, I want an option where I can choose either the left most position or the parent of the leftmost position for the position of the highlighted person. The option should be on the Pedigree View screen, just like the option to pick 5 or 6 generations is on the Pedigree View screen itself. And the option should be a one click change. Then RM would not be using any logic or doing any analysis of which way to do it. I would always know which way it was doing it because it would be doing it according to my preference.
