Did a Descendant View with my great-grandpa that worked fine.
When I did it again for his son, the Descendant View still showed great-grandpa with his descendants. It but did highlight his son.
If you choose someone who is already in the Descendant View, it just goes to that person without resetting the entire view.
I know it has worked this way previously, but I think any prior selection should be cleared out and a new view generated to focus on the selected person.
This is one specific example of what I think of as an overall undesirable behavior that started with RM8 and continues on into RM11. Namely, RM7 always put the highlighted person into the Primary position, and RM no longer does that. It’s not just Descendant View that has this undesirable behavior. It’s pretty much all the views. Even views such as People View and Couples View which perhaps don’t have such an obvious Primary position are very inconsistent about where the highlighted Person or Couple first appears.
Whenever I have complained about this behavior, the response has been about how easy it is to right click move a person into the Primary position, or else about how easy it is to use the left and right chevrons to move people around.to get them into the desired position. Those are good features, but in my view they are no substitute for the much more user friendly behavior from RM7 that used to put your highlighted person into the Primary position in the first place.
