RM 11.1.3.0 Update freezes in Publish

I just updated to 11.1.3.0. I am working with Windows 11, 64 bit. I have never had issues with RM updates prior to this one.

I wanted to run a Descendent List from one of my Ancestors. I clicked on Publish, chose Descendent List and nothing happened; it froze; could not change to another report, menu item nor close program. Had to use Task Manager to close program.

I’ve tried several times but it freezes every time. It doesn’t freeze when I am entering information.

Do I need to uninstall 11 and reinstall or? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Try downloading the 32 bit version of RM. The 64 bit version causes a lot of problems for some people. You can install both on your computer at the same time.

Thank you. I will try that.

I double checked and I am using the 32 bit Roots Magic as recommended. My computer is an HP OMEN 64 bit.

I’ve never had any problems with any RM update prior to this one - 11.1.3.0.

I do not understand why it freezes when I open Publish. Doesn’t matter which report I click on, it freezes and I have to open Task Manager to close. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Have you tried rebooting the computer? Are you pausing cloud services while using RM? Might try running all the tools and maybe disabling your anti-virus temporarily…

I just not sure as I’m running Windows 11 64 bit and have no problems

edit-- try dragging and dropping your database into a new file-- mark it as test or slightly different name and see if you have the same problem

You could try a program settings Reset by pressing Ctrl-Shift-U and re-establishing your program and database Settings.

All goods suggetsions to try. Also see if running the Database Tools under File, Tools helps.

Yes, I have rebooted the computer. Also, left it and started again next day.

I am not using cloud services. I ran the tools. Tomorrow I will try disabling the anti-virus.

I will also try the drag and drop suggestion. I have never experienced any issues before this last update.

My very techy brother-in-law thinks it’s a code issue.

Many thanks

Good suggestion. I’ve never done that before but will try those tomorrow .

Many thanks.
