I understand that the structure and content of books created in RM7 cannot be imported into RM9 (and presumably RM10). Has anyone found a way to do this? I have 40 books in RM7 Publisher, it is not practical to manually recreate the structure and then copy and paste the text from RM7 to RM9 (or 10).
Unfortunately no, at least not through any standard means. I needed to redo the definitions for the dozen or so books I can created. I do not envy your situation, and even in RM10 Book definitions are not preserved in drag N drop, so they are somewhat 2nd class citizens in RM.
That said, it wouldn’t be that hard to do. In RM 8.5+ the Book definitions are simply XML definiations stored in a blob. Any way you look at it the format is very different in RM7 vs 8.5+, but for those of us that use Books the support could use lots of improvement.
