Proven/Disproven/Disputed

What exactly is meant by Disproven?

I always assumed it meant “unproven” or “not (yet) proven”, but never actually used it because I wasn’t absolutely certain of the precise meaning. Today, out of curiosity, I looked it up in the OE Dictionary, Webster’s Dictionary and Chamber’s Dictionary, and all seem to agree (unless I’m misunderstanding them) that it means “proved to be false or wrong”.

So what does RM think it means?

Proven/Disproven/Disputed

Yes/No/Maybe

True/False/Ambiguous

Other than character style in the Edit Person screen, I don’t know that the RM app does anything with this parameter. And Proven style is the same as having chosen none of the parameters. That’s from memory and may prove to be Disputed, if not Disproven.

I think I’ll stick with my current practice of not using it!
