Possibly wrong person in focus after changing views

Ever since the introduction of RM8, I have encountered situations where changing from one view to another seems to go to the wrong person. In fact, as I was posting this message, the forum pointed out to me an RM8 video I had posted about the same issue way back then.

I have found that such “wrong person after changing views” situations have gradually become less and less. I don’t know if RM has fixed some of them, or if I have adapted some of my personal workflows in such a way that the “wrong person after changing views” situations don’t arise in the first place.

But I just encountered another one. It took me several tries to capture it because sometimes it wouldn’t happen. It all went well until the last five seconds where I couldn’t find a good summary sentence. But otherwise the video is ok. Here is the link. The time is 3:44.

Confirming this happens when viewing a singleton on the Family View. To get out unstuck you need to select someone else on the sidebar index. This issue has been reported to development.

I find a similar behavior when I do a Find Anywhere and click on a found citation. It the citation window is already open in the sources tab and it has a filter set, the link will bring you to the wrong citation.

If you have a filter set it will behave the same going to people, or sources. It’s hard to say all users in all situations would want it to clear the filter. It depends on the project you are working on.
