Narrative Reports & Shared Census Fact

I thought this issue had been raised before but I cannot find reference to it.
Generating a Narrative Report in RM8 does not include a shared census fact for any of those people with whom the census fact has been shared when that census fact has been created in RM8.
If the shared census fact was created in RM7 and the RM7 database is uploaded to RM8 then the shared census fact will be included in the Narrative Report.
The shared census fact created in RM8 is included in the Family Group Sheet and the Individual Summary; it’s just not in the Narrative Report.
Is it work in progress for this shared census fact to be included in the Narrative Report or is it no longer to be included as it was in RM7?

Check in the Fact Type that you have checked Narrative Reports under “Include When.” Then make sure you have a sentence defined in the roles you are sharing. Not only does my sentence print in the narrative, but the note also typed to the shared person prints.

Thank you, most helpful. Yes, I do have the census fact type included in Narrative Reports and this includes the appropriate sentence template. This only applies however to the census fact (family) for the ‘Head of Household’ and this included in the Narrative Report for the Head of Household and his wife. Once shared with their children, the census fact does not appear in the Report for those children. There seems to be no way to include this.
In RM7, once shared with the children the shared census fact is included in The Narrative Report of the children with whom it was shared. The primary data from the parents/Head of Household is brought into the the children’s data for the Report. This seems to be a program feature. There is a complimentary sentence template to match, namely:
“[ThisPerson] appeared in the census in the household of [couple]< [Date]>< [PlaceDetails]>< [Place]>.”
This program feature is, I think, what’s missing from RM8. If I am right, is it known if this is work in progress and this feature will be available in due course?
I appreciate that when sharing in RM8 there is the ability at that point or later in editing, to compose a sentence to describe/record the circumstances of the shared census fact but, I think, that this will only apply to that single sharing of the census fact for that one individual. This would seem to be very different to the way RM7 worked for this as mentioned above. This said, I hope I have understood what you have said about the sentence and note.
I would welcome any further comments/help you (or anyone else viewing this post) can give; thanks in advance.

When you share the fact from the primary person (Principal role) to another in the household, you choose a role for that person, such as spouse, child, son, daughter etc. It is those roles that each need their own sentence template. That is posting to the Narrative reports I print for my families. Are you saying you have defined sentences for the roles attached to the census fact but they are not printing?

Many thanks, this solves my problem. I had not discovered how to do this and your screenshot took me to exactly where I needed to be. I’m very grateful to you for your help. Regards.
